DeSci Labs is a software R&D company building the open science infrastructure of tomorrow. DeSci Labs was first to successfully build a fully open access science publishing infrastructure based on Web3 technology, DeSci Publish.


Publish allows scientists to share, access, and interact with research without paywalls or publication charges on an open peer-to-peer network that enables data sovereignty and ensure long-term persistence. Publish makes open access articles more engaging by adding valuable analytics and by allowing authors to add data, code, and other research outputs.

Why did your organisation join the LIFES community?

DeSci Labs offers publishing solutions that are FAIR by design. We've been partners with the GO FAIR Foundation and LIFES from the beginning.

How is FAIR and equitable science and innovation relevant to your organisation?

FAIR and equitable science are central to everything we build at DeSci Labs.

What would your organisation like to contribute to the LIFES community?

We offer open scholarly infrastructure and solutions that can help others to share their data in a FAIR-compliant way. All our software is open source.
We offer: a. Persistent identifiers for every version of every file (DPIDs - https://www.dpid.org/)
b. Data sharing via a decentralized peer-to-peer network (IPFS - https://ipfs.tech/)
c. Programmatic publishing of research content via the Nodes-Lib library (https://www.desci.com/blogs/the-nodes-lib-library-for-programmatic-publishing).
